A successful season opener for PAGID Racing in Dubai

17. January 2018 -

An overall win, four class wins and a total of eleven teams on the podium: PAGID Racing enjoyed a perfect start of the new season during the 24H Dubai (11-13 January). The BLACK FALCON team claimed the prestigious overall win with its #2 Mercedes-AMG GT3. PAGID Racing partner Liqui Moly Team Engstler secured itself a convincing win in the 24H TCE Series season opener with its #130 Volkswagen Golf GTi TCR.

The overall win in the 24H Dubai already marked the fourth success for BLACK FALCON in the endurance racing classic in the desert. Abdulaziz Al Faisal, Yelmer Buurman, Hubert Haupt and Gabriele Piana sealed the win in the season opener with a faultless performance.

In the A6-Am class, PAGID Racing customers scored a double success: the #16 SPS automotive performance Mercedes-AMG GT3 claimed first place followed by the #18 V8 Racing Chevrolet Corvette C6-ZR1 in second place. In the SPX class, Tsunami R.T. also showed a convincing performance with its #37 Porsche 991 Cup MR II and celebrated not only a class win, but also a very strong sixth place overall. Ciceley Motorsport (P1 for the #162 Renault Clio Cup IV, P3 for the #164 Renault Clio Cup IV) and Jönsson Consulting (P2 for the #171 Peugeot RCZ) made it a clean sweep of the top three in the A2 class for PAGID Racing. The strong performance in Dubai also includes third place for BLACK FALCON Team TMD Friction (#264 Mercedes-AMG GT4) in the GT4 class and third place for Speed Lover (#78 Porsche 991-I (Speed Lover)) in the SP2 category.

Victory for Liqui Moly Team Engstler in the 24H TCE Series

The 24H Dubai also served as the season opener of the 24H TCE Series. This weekend, the Liqui Moly Team Engstler that took on its first 24-hour race with the Volkswagen Golf GTi TCR, was the benchmark in the TCR class. After 556 laps, Luca Engstler, Florian Thoma, Jean-Karl Vernay and Benjamin Leuchter crossed the finish line as the best-placed team in the TCR and TCE class and thus secured victory in the 24H TCE Series season opener, also courtesy of the strong performance of the PAGID Racing brake pads and the technical support provided by the PAGID Racing experts on site. Third place in the TCR class went to Bonk Motorsport (#115 Audi RS3 LMS DSG).
