Success in FIM Sidecar World Championship

08. December 2016 -

A 1-2 for PAGID Racing customers in the FIM Sidecar World Championship: Pekka Päivärinta/Kirsi Kainulainen clinched the world championship title while Tim Reeves/Grégory Cluze were runners-up. In other categories, teams were also successful with PAGID Racing brake performance.

With an advantage of 18 points, Pekka Päivärinta/Kirsi Kainulainen sealed the FIM Sidecar World Championship title. Throughout the season, the Finnish pairing proved to be the most consistent team, finishing on the podium in each of the nine rounds. Their victory at the Pannonia Ring in Hugary at the end of June was a historic one: Kirsi Kainulainen became the first female rider to win a road racing world championship round. Second place in the final championship standings went to British/French pairing Reeves/Cluze.
The success for Päivärinta/Kainulainen was the seventh consecutive world championship title for a team relying on PAGID Racing.

In Sidecar F2 World Trophy, Günther Bachmaier/Manfred Wechselberger finished second. Third place went to Michael Grabmüller/Sophia Kirchhofer.
Fantastic fact: in total, 19 out of 27 sidecars participating in the championship trusted in PAGID Racing brake pads this year.

PAGID Racing customers also had reason to celebrate in the Isle of Man TT Races that rank among the world’s most spectacular competitions for sidecars. In the first race of the Sure Sidecar TT, John Holden/Andrew Winkle claimed victory from Pete Founds/Jevan Walmsley and Alan Founds/Aki Aalto. In the second race, Holden/Winkle finished second while Tim Reeves/Patrick Farrance secured themselves third place.

The international German championship saw Bennie Streuer/Geert Koerts win the overall title. Thus, PAGID Racing has won the championship every year since 2005. The Hyundai Heavy Industries British F1 Sidecar Championship even resulted into a clean sweep of the top three: Ricky Stevens/Ryan Charlwood won from Tim Reeves/Grégory Cluze and Jakob Rutz/Marcel Fries. In the British F1 Sidecar Championship, all the title winners since 2010 have been relying on PAGID Racing brake performance.

An overwhelming 1-2-3 in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring

A great success in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring: the season highlight in the Green Hell saw PAGID Racing teams lock out the top three and score a total of seven class wins. The #912 Porsche 911 GT3 R of Manthey Racing secured the prestigious overall win from the #4 and #5 BLACK FALCON Mercedes-AMG GT3. In total, six cars managed to finish in the top ten with PAGID Racing brake performance.

The Audi Sport Seyffarth R8 LMS Cup got off to a successful start of its inaugural season. Up to 20 Audi R8 LMS GT4 with PAGID Racing brake performance are staging spectacular racing action in the twelve races of the Cup season.

Maximum performance with PAGID Racing: aufkleben.de Motorsport is successfully counting on PAGID Racing and is a new development partner of the brake pad specialist from Essen, Germany since this season. For the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft, the German team has set itself big goals with the Renault Clio RS Cup.

With victories for Luca Engstler and Mitchell Cheah as well as two further podium results at Sepang International Circuit, Liqui Moly Team Engstler had a particularly successful start of its campaign in the 2018 TCR Asia Series. The team that had claimed last year’s teams’ and drivers’ titles lived up to its role as favourites and seamlessly built on the achievements from the previous year.

SEAT has upgraded its CUPRA performance division to a separate brand. Like SEAT Sport, CUPRA trusts in the brake performance of PAGID Racing. The CUPRA TCR, the first race car of the new sporting brand, will be competing, among others, in the FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR).

Luca Engstler secures TCR Middle East title

Luca Engstler is crowned 2018 TCR Middle East Champion. The driver of Liqui Moly Team Engstler secured the title in Race 1 in the final meeting at Bahrain International Circuit. Third place in the Drivers’ standings went to his teammate Florian Thoma. The icing on the cake for PAGID Racing partner Liqui Moly Team Engstler was the Teams’ title, grasped with a comfortable advantage of 53 points.

A successful season opener for PAGID Racing in Dubai

An overall win, four class wins and a total of eleven teams on the podium: PAGID Racing enjoyed a perfect start of the new season during the 24H Dubai (11-13 January). The BLACK FALCON team claimed the prestigious overall win with its #2 Mercedes-AMG GT3. PAGID Racing partner Liqui Moly Team Engstler secured itself a convincing win in the 24H TCE Series season opener with its #130 Volkswagen Golf GTi TCR.
