Europe: A 1-2-3 in the Nürburgring 24-hour race and further top results
13. December 2018 -For PAGID Racing, the 2018 motorsport year in the European race series was a great success. Next to the outstanding 1-2-3 in the ADAC Zurich 24h-Rennen at the Nürburgring, the teams using PAGID Racing Brake Performance were successful, among others, in the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft, the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, EuroFormula Open, various TCR series as well as in rally competition.
Once again, the legendary Nürburgring-Nordschleife proved to be a happy hunting ground for PAGID Racing in 2018. PAGID Racing teams dominated proceedings in the legendary 24-hour race at the Nürburgring: with the #912 Porsche 911 GT3 R, Manthey Racing secured itself the prestigious overall win from the #4 Mercedes-AMG GT3 and the #5 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of the Mercedes-AMG Team BLACK FALCON. In total, six cars with PAGID Racing Brake Performance made it into the top ten. Moreover, the teams scored seven class wins, a strong performance record.
In the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft at the Nürburgring, PAGID Racing customer teams also racked up numerous successes. Falken Motorsports won the VLN Speed-Trophy with the #4 Porsche 991 GT3-R. With Stephan Köhler, Christian Kohlhaas (both SP8), Martin Kroll (SP6), Jörg Kittelmann (SP3T) and Andreas Gülden (TCR), five drivers who are relying on PAGID Racing together with their teams scored victories in their respective classes.
Simply the best in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup: during the season finale at Barcelona, the driver trio of Luca Stolz/Yelmer Buurman/Maro Engel secured the drivers’ title with the #4 BLACK FALCON Mercedes-AMG GT3. Moreover, BLACK FALCON came out on top in the final teams’ standings.
Title and a new record: Felipe Drugovich enjoyed an excellent season in EuroFormula Open. The Brazilian driver of the Italian RP Motorsport team not only won the title, but also established a new record for the highest number of race wins in one season.
PAGID Racing’s success story in TCR competition continued in 2018. The motorsport brand of TMD Performance GmbH locked out the top three in ADAC TCR Germany. Harald Proczyk won the title with the #22 Opel Astra TCR run by HP Racing International ahead of Luca Engstler (Hyundai Team Engstler) and Niels Langeveld (Racing One). After a strong season, Mikel Azcona wrapped up the TCR Europe title with the #25 PCR Sport CUPRA TCR. Jean-Karl Vernay became runner-up with the #69 Audi Sport Leopard Lukoil Team Audi RS3 LMS. In TCR Italy, Salvatore Tavano was crowned champion with the #4 CUPRA TCR and with Luigi Ferrara and Matteo Greco, two further PAGID Racing customers secured second and third place.
Two further top results in 2018 proved that PAGID Racing is the perfect choice for rallying. Miguel Fuster and Ignacio Aviño were victorious in the Spanish Tarmac Rally Championship with the #2 Ford Fiesta R5. In the Portuguese Rally Championship, Armindo Araújo and Luís Ramalho won the title with the #46 RMC Motorsport Hyundai i20 R5.
