Europe: Top results in FIA Formula 3 European Championship and further achievements

15. December 2017 -

PAGID Racing is looking back upon a successful motorsport year in European series. Team Carlin’s Lando Norris winning the FIA Formula 3 European Championship title ranks among the highlights of 2017. The motorsport brand of TMD Performance GmbH was also successful at the Nürburgring and in TCR competition.

Lando Norris, Team Carlin, is the new FIA Formula 3 European Champion. With two races to spare, the Brit already sealed the title. Moreover, he won the accolade for the best rookie driver. His tally of nine race wins, seven second places and four third places underline the 18-year-old’s outstanding season performance. “Prior to the season, my team and I didn’t expect to win the title, but we worked hard and this is the well-deserved reward. This title probably is the most important one in my career so far,” Norris said. Second place in the final standings for Joel Eriksson, Team Motopark, rounds out the strong achievement for PAGID Racing in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship.

In line with tradition, the Green Hell also turned out to be a good venue for the teams relying on PAGID Racing Brake Performance again in 2017. Thus, PAGID Racing customers achieved five class wins in the ADAC Zurich 24h-Rennen Nürburgring, a strong performance. The VLN endurance racing championship also brought reason to celebrate: with the #802 mathilda racing Volkswagen Golf GTi TCR, Benjamin Leuchter/Andy Gülden secured first place in the TCR class.

In the TCR Germany, Luca Engstler, Liqui Moly Team Engstler caught the attention as the best rookie driver. Nicola Baldan, Baldan-Pit Lane Competizione, ended up first in the TCR Italy with the #8 SEAT Leon TCR equipped with PAGID Racing brake pads while SEAT Sport won the manufacturers’ title. Francisco Abreu, Team Novadriver, secured the TCR Ibérico title with the #11 VW Golf GTi TCR.
