Successful season for PAGID Racing partner and customer teams in North America01. December 2021 -
Championship titles, victories, class wins, strong podium finishes and much more: PAGID Racing can look back on a very successful motorsport season in the United States and Canada.
Titles in IMSA racing
It was a very successful season for PAGID Racing customers in IMSA racing. Porsche GT3R team Pfaff Motorsports’ drivers Laurens Vanthoor and Zacharie Robichon earned the GT Daytona (GTD) class championship while Antonio Garcia and Jordan Taylor in their Corvette C8.R captured the GT Le Mans (GTLM) title of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The Hyundai Veloster TCR team Bryan Herta Autosport’s pairing of Taylor Hagler Motorsport and Michael James Lewis clinched the TCR class title in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. Taylor Hagler became the first-ever female to earn the championship title in the TCR category.
Strong performance in one-make cups with PAGID Racing support
A traditionally strong partnership links PAGID Racing and Mazda Motorsports in the United States. So again, the drivers and teams showed strong performances in the Mazda MX-5 Cup with PAGID Racing brake performance. Gresham Wagner was crowned 2021 Mazda MX-5 Cup champion after a dramatic final race of the season at Road Atlanta.
The races in the Spec MX-5 Challenge Series also offered exciting racing action with PAGID Racing brake performance. The highlight of the season was the season finale at Road Atlanta, where 17 Spec MX-5 Challenge racers from around the country where fighting for the title. Matt Fassnacht took the deserving win, being crowned the Spec MX-5 Challenge champion for the first time.
Another example of success in North America is the Nissan Sentra Cup – a one-make racing series exclusive to Canada offering action-packed racing with close competition. All cup cars competing in the series provide PAGID Racing brake performance. Kevin King claimed the overall title at the final event of the season at the Mont-Tremblant circuit.
Title for Kyffin Simpson in FR Americas
Kyffin Simpson (TJ Speed Motorsports) performed strongly in FR Americas, where all cars are equipped with PAGID Racing brake pads. The 17-year-old was crowned 2021 FR Americas series champion at the season finale at Circuit of the Americas. Joshua Car (Crosslink Competition) finished runner-up. Third place overall went to Ernie Francis Jr (Future Star Racing).
Success in UTV racing
UTV racing is enjoying growing popularity worldwide – and especially in North America. To ensure that customers in UTV racing can also rely on maximum brake performance, PAGID Racing has developed new brake pads for UTV. With success: this year, PAGID Racing customers were once again able to celebrate numerous victories and championship titles. Highlights are the UTV Pro Turbo title for Cody Martin (Can AM X3) and the UTV Pro N/A title for Kainan Baker (Polaris RS1) in the Mid America Outdoors series, victories for Robert Stout in the Yawpower Suspension car in SxS Pro N/A class at Texplex and for Myles Cheek in the Polaris RS1 equipped with the CMI brake kit.
PAGID Racing: the perfect choice for Legend Car Racing
PAGID Racing is the right choice for success in Legend Car Racing as well. David French, for example, successfully relies on PAGID Racing and took the win in the INEX Legends Cars at Evans Mills Raceway Park. Collin Milroy claimed victory at Wall Stadium Speedway. Victories in circle track racing
More wins in modified cars in circle track racing rounded out a very successful season for PAGID Racing in North America. Patrick Emerling claimed victory in the inaugural Nu-Way Auto Parts 150 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race at Lancaster Motorsports Park. In the beginning of September Richard (Skip) LaPolt won the feature race at Bethel Speedway.
Jim Emerson, Senior Manager Motorsport: “We are very happy with a very successful motorsport season in North America. The success of our partner and customer teams shows once again that our PAGID Racing products are the perfect choice for the most varied series – from IMSA to UTV and cup racing.”
